Travel information to City Campus

If you’re travelling to Nottingham by car, we recommend you use the city’s park and ride services and continue your journey by tram, as parking in the centre can quickly become expensive. We recommend that you use one of the following sites and board any tram serving Toton Lane or Clifton South:

  • The Forest (NG7 6AQ)
  • Phoenix Park (NG8 6AS)
  • Toton Lane (NG9 7JA)

Make sure you buy a ticket before you board the tram to avoid penalty fares and alight at the Nottingham Trent University stop. Visit the Nottingham Express Transit (NET) website for more information on the city’s park and ride services.

If you’re intending to park in the city centre, the closest and largest facilities to our City Campus are:

  • Trinity Square (NG1 4BT)
  • Talbot Street (NG1 5GG)
  • The Victoria Centre (NG1 3QN)

If you’re planning on travelling by train, timetable information is available from National Rail.

Nottingham Station is a short walk from the city centre. When you arrive, our City Campus is best reached by tram – follow the signs from your platform, and head north on the Phoenix Park or Hucknall lines. The Nottingham Trent University tram stop is less than 10 minutes away.

  • Prices: £2.20 per adult (single), £3.50 (return), £4 (unlimited day ticket) – a £1 short hop’ ticket will get you a single trip between Nottingham Station and NTU.  At weekends, discounted group tickets are available. Make sure you purchase your ticket at the tram stop before boarding.
  • Frequency: Trams leave from Nottingham Station every 7-10 minutes.

The City Campus is easily accessible by Nottingham City Transport services, which all stop within a 5 minute walk from the campus. Uni 4 provides a direct link from Clifton Campus and the Station, on weekdays during term time, to the City Campus. Discounted fares are available to all NTU students through the NCTX Buses app.

Dependent on which direction you're visiting NTU from, you may find visiting use by tram the easiest way to reach us.

Nottingham has an extensive tram system run by Nottingham Express Transport (NET) that includes a stop outside of our City Campus.

You must buy tickets before you travel as checks do take place regularly. Find more travel information on the NET website.

Coach and Megabus services are located on Station Street, adjacent to the train station. You can take a tram from the station to the Nottingham Trent University stop. The NET site includes all the information you’ll need for fairs, timetables, and maps.

East Midlands Airport is just 15 miles from Nottingham city centre and there is a dedicated bus service between the airport and the city centre.

Getting to Clifton Campus

Travel information for Clifton Campus

The satnav postcode for our Clifton Campus is NG11 8NS. There are plenty of parking spaces available on site for all visitors.

If you’re planning on coming by train, timetable information is available from National Rail. Nottingham Station is located approximately four miles from our Clifton Campus.

You can also catch the Go2 Uni 4 bus from just outside the station from every seven minutes at peak lecture times, and until midnight Monday–Saturday. There's also a nightbus on the route connecting the railway station to Clifton Campus. Visit the Nottingham City Transport (NCTX) website for more information.

Nottingham City Transport operate the Uni 4 bus service between our City Campus and Clifton Campus during term-time. South Notts 1 stops outside Clifton Campus every day throughout the year, providing a regular link to Nottingham City Centre and Loughborough. Discounted fares are available to all NTU students through the NCTX Buses app.

Clifton Campus is easily accessible by tram and the nearest stop is Rivergreen on the Clifton South line.

Campus is roughly a 10 minute walk from the Rivergreen stop. Further information is available on the Nottingham Express Transit (NET) website.

East Midlands Airport is just 15 miles from Nottingham city centre and there is a dedicated bus service between the airport and the city centre.

Brackenhurst Estate

If you’re planning on coming by train, timetable information is available from National Rail. The closest station to our Brackenhurst Campus is Lowdham.

Nottingham City Transport (NCT)’s Pathfinder 26 bus service will take you to our Brackenhurst Campus in 45 minutes. The bus leaves every 30 minutes on Monday to Saturday daytimes and hourly evenings and Sunday daytimes from King Street, just off the Old Market Square. N26 operates until 3am every Friday and Saturday night. Discounted fares are available to all NTU students through the NCTX Buses app.

Getting to Mansfield Hub

Travel information to Mansfield Hub

The postcode for our Mansfield Hub is NG18 5BH. Free parking is available for staff and students on-site. For access to the car park, please use the entrance on Cauldwell Road.

NTU in Mansfield is around an 8-minute drive or 35-minute walk from Mansfield train station.

Trains to Mansfield from Nottingham city centre take approximately 50 minutes and run regularly throughout the day.

Stagecoach Pronto operates between Chesterfield, Mansfield and Nottingham city centre, connecting students, staff and visitors to the colourful culture and vibrant nightlife that these three cities have to offer.

NTU students receive 30% off travel between Nottingham and Mansfield town with the production of a valid NTU ID card. This offer is not available during the month of August. More information about Mansfield bus routes and timetables can be found on the Stagecoach website.
