Work placements and sponsorship
All of the School's undergraduate courses offer a full-year work placement (with the exception of BArch (Hons) Architecture).
The placement year is an invaluable opportunity for students to accumulate practical experience and develop solid practical understanding.
During their first two years, students receive extensive industry-level knowledge and training can offer a range of transferable skills including strong analysis and research, communications, report writing and excellent contemporary IT knowledge. Our students are flexible, enthusiastic and often bilingual.
The placement can be orchestrated to complete a one-off project (or a number of projects) or add value in a busy department. It can also be an effective graduate recruitment tool for future positions within your company.
Students are available from July (end of the second year of study) to September of the following year. The students take a full-year out of their studies to work full-time in an organisation and must complete a minimum of 36 weeks in one or more companies. Placements range from three to twelve months in duration depending on the employer requirements.
