I hope the trip to America will provide me with a platform to expand my business.

A Hive-based entrepreneur has received an exciting boost to his business, as he travels to LA to film at the Tastemade Studios in Santa Monica.

Nottingham Trent University graduate Warren Nash launched his online cookery channel in 2009, with help from The Hive. Based in Nottingham, partially in The Hive itself, produces and broadcasts cooking videos. All recipes are designed to be cooked from scratch, and to be as simple as possible.

Released on YouTube, his successful cookery videos reach nearly half a million viewers, many of whom live in America.

Warren was invited to become a member of Tastmade, a worldwide network for chefs and cooks, in 2011 after winning the YouTube Next Chef competition. During the trip Warren will meet other members of Tastemade. He also plans to record some new cookery videos.

Warren said: "I hope the trip to America will provide me with a platform to expand my business".

Phil Clarke, student enterprise adviser at The Hive, has mentored Warren since 2009. He said: "Warren's success is down to a combination of the innovative nature of the business and his dedication. It's down to his hard work and effort, as much as his innovative idea."

Warren says of The Hive: "The Hive hosts informative seminars with professionals in specialist fields. This has been a great help in progressing my business idea and skills set. Ultimately, it's hard work that will make your idea a reality, but The Hive will get you there sooner by steering you in the right direction with the decisions you make."
