1in2 day will take place on Friday 9 March 2018 – what will you do?

Based on our Clifton campus, the John van Geest Cancer Research Centre is a unique purpose-built facility that aims to save lives and aid recovery by improving the diagnosis and treatment of cancer.

Every year, the annual 1in2 day is organised in recognition of the statistical probability that at least one in two of us are likely to be diagnosed with cancer at some point in our lives, alongside raising vital funds for the centre.

Every penny received by van Geest is spent on cancer research – and whether it's organising a cake sale or a more physical challenge such as cycling the distance from Land's End to John O'Groats, the centre is always keen to hear from people who are keen to help raise them some money.

Why not do something great and help save lives?

Not only will you have fun or even be challenged, all fundraising efforts will assist in the research of cancer treatment and immunology.

Stephen Knott, Alumni and Community Giving Officer here at NTU said: "Cancer is obviously something which will affect us all during our lifetime, either through a direct diagnosis or through our family and friends. Everyone can do something to support the vital and ground breaking work happening right here at the University."

For further information, advice, support, and to tell us your ideas please contact Stephen Knott, Alumni and Community Giving Officer.
