Brackenhurst Campus

Current developments

New student accommodation submitted for planning
An exciting proposal to build approximately 190 beds within the vicinity of the existing student accommodation has recently been submitted to Newark and Sherwood District Council. This new development will allow more students to live on Brackenhurst Campus. We'll keep you updated with more information about the development once a planning decision has been made.

New and improved Heart of the Campus
We’ve been busy over the summer knocking down tired old buildings to prepare the way for a brand new Reception and Environment Centre (REC). The REC will be situated at the front of the campus and will provide world-class teaching, learning and research dedicated to geography, environment, ecology and conservation.

The REC will become the new Heart of the Campus featuring a campus reception, a café and dining area, large open plan spaces, a 200 seat lecture theatre, state-of-the-art teaching and research rooms as well as lots of beautiful outdoor areas to relax and socialise in.

Construction is due to start early 2018 ready for completion in the summer 2019.

As part a five-year programme there are also plans to redevelop equine, canine and animal facilities.

We’ll do everything we can to keep disruption to a minimum whilst works take place to transform your campus. If there are any changes, we’ll keep you updated via email. If you have any questions about these developments, email the Transformation Project Team at:
