Summer Schools in Mexico

NTU and Santander Universities are offering an amazing opportunity for NTU students to spend two weeks (between 15 – 26 July) participating in a summer school at CETYS University, Ensenada, Mexico, in July. CETYS University has been designated as an ‘institution of excellence’ by Mexico’s Government.

There are up to twenty scholarships available to cover tuition, accommodation, social programme and return flights.

The summer programme includes classes, industry visits and cultural immersion. Students will choose from one of the courses: Project Management / Human Resources Management / Innovation & New Product Development / Strategic Management / International Marketing / Competitiveness and Sustainability / Cross Cultural Management.

Who can apply?

Fully-enrolled undergraduate students from all subject areas. Priority will be given to students in receipt of an NTU Bursary and / or are from a household with a joint income of £25,000 or less. Visiting / incoming exchange students, PG students and final year UG students who are due to graduate in July 2019 are NOT eligible to apply.

Discover Erasmus Exchange Scholarships

Discover Europe with the help of NTU Global’s Discover Erasmus summer school scholarships. Our generous Erasmus+ and Santander funding of £1000 per student will cover most of the costs of attending a summer school at one of these amazing locations: Denmark, Estonia, Poland, Russia, Slovenia, Spain and The Netherlands.

These scholarships are a fantastic way to discover new countries, teaching, cultures, and friends in a short amount of time! Your participation will be recorded in your Higher Education Achievement Report (HEAR) too.

Applications are particularly welcome from students in receipt of an NTU Bursary.

Discover Erasmus - Denmark
Where: VIA University College, Aarhus

Meet Anna, Summer School Coordinator at Via University at our drop-in session on Thursday 7 February at 2.30pm in city Global Lounge.
VIA Summer School courses take place primarily at Aarhus City Campus which is in Aarhus city centre. As the summer school attracts students from all over the world the city centre has a unique and exciting atmosphere for academic learning and socialising.
When: July and August depending on course
VIA Summer School offers courses in health, teaching, pedagogy, engineering, construction, and film and transmedia. Find out more about the courses and please ensure that you meet the eligibility criteria of the course before you apply.
Accommodation: there are different options that you can choose from self-catering dormitories to hotel rooms, and the VIA Summer School team will assist you to find somewhere to stay.

Discover Erasmus - Slovenia
Where: The University of Ljubljana

When: 8 – 26 July 2019
The programme consists of a set of individual full-time courses, all taught in English, during a 3-week period. Courses are open to undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Please see the list of courses – please ensure that you check the eligibility criteria of the course you wish to apply for.
Accommodation: you will stay in a dormitory sharing with two other students, and will be provided with bed linen, pillows and blankets. There are shared kitchens and bathrooms, IT facilities, study rooms, free internet access and a self-service breakfast. Lunches will be provided on campus.

Discover Erasmus - Estonia
Where: University of Tallinn
Tallinn, as the capital and largest city in Estonia, is a major European political, culture and educational centre. It is the home of the NATO Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence.
When: 15 July – 2 August 2019
Tallinn Summer School combines a wide range of courses with a rich and diverse cultural programme and attracting participants from all over the world. The summer school will introduce you to the finest aspects of local culture and integrate a wide range of internationally acclaimed academics and intellectuals. Tallinn University is the largest university of humanities in Tallinn and the third largest public university in Estonia.
The summer school offers the courses in the following subject areas: language; creative; educational sciences; humanities and social sciences; and interdisciplinary. Please check the eligibility criteria of your chosen course carefully before applying.
Accommodation: students can choose between:

  • Tallinn University International Student Hostel which is a 5 minute walk away from the university campus. It has double and triple rooms.
  • Teko Student Hostel which is 20 minute walk to the campus. The hostel offers triple rooms with shared bathroom and kitchen facilities.

Accommodation: provided in the University Halls of Residence which offers double rooms. Bathrooms and kitchenettes are shared between two double rooms. Breakfasts are included.

Discover Erasmus - Russia
Where: St. Petersburg Polytechnic University

When: 23 July – August, depending on course
Discover Russia by participating in the International Polytechnic Summer School. You will be taught by outstanding professors who will increase your subject knowledge and you will participate in case studies, group discussions, field trips and study visits in addition to lectures.
There is a wide range of courses to choose from including Space Technology, Natural Sciences and Engineering, Information Technologies, Civil Engineering, Energy Technology, Design, Food Science, Business and Management, and Russian Studies. Please read the course descriptions to ensure that you meet any eligibility criteria before applying.
The scholarship will help to cover the costs of your course, accommodation and flights. Please note that you will need to apply for a visa to participate in this summer school.
Accommodation: you will stay in student dormitories with double or triple rooms in an apartment with shared facilities.

Study in the USA this summer

Summer Workshop (29 July – 9 August 2019): Social Innovation and Financial Inclusion in the Digital Age

The Banco Santander Georgetown University Partnership on Social Economy is accepting applications from students interested in participating in a two-week, multi-disciplinary workshop. 24 scholarships are available for students from the Santander Universities Network for UG and PG social sciences, history, law, business, technology, engineering, computer science, biomedical sciences and physical sciences students. Students must be 21 years of age by the start of the workshop, have advanced English language skills and be eligible for a tourist visa to the US.

The scholarship covers half-board accommodation and tuition fees. Students are responsible for the costs of their return flights, airport transfers, F-1 student visa, and travel medical insurance. Application closing date is 19 March. Apply at santander-grants.com.

Santander (30 June – 3 August 2019): Yale International Summer Experience Program

Yale University and Banco Santander are providing UG students the opportunity to attend classes at Yale during the 5-week Yale Summer Session. 12 students will be selected and must be between 19 and 24 years old, have advanced English language skills and be eligible for a tourist visa to the US.

The scholarship covers tuition, room and board. Students are responsible for the costs of their return flights, airport transfers, F-1 student visa, SEVIS fee, health insurance and a visa processing fee. Application closing date is 19 April. Apply at santander-grants.com.
