Discover Erasmus summer school scholarships

Discover some of Eastern and Northern Europe’s less travelled destinations with the help of NTU Global’s Discover Erasmus summer school scholarships. Our generous funding of up to £1,250, depending on destination, will cover most of the costs of attending a summer school at one of these amazing locations: Slovenia Poland Estonia Czech Republic Denmark Finland Russia.

These scholarships are a fantastic way to discover new countries, teaching, cultures, and friends in a short amount of time! Your participation will be recorded in your Higher Education Achievement Report (HEAR) too.

Discover Erasmus - Slovenia

Where: The University of Ljubljana

Ljubljana is a city situated between the Alps and the Adriatic Sea – it is friendly and relaxed and has all the facilities of a modern capital. Ljubljana is a perfect base for exploring Slovenia’s diverse beauty.

When: 2 – 20 July 2018

The programme consists of a set of individual full-time courses, all taught in English, during a 3-week period. Courses are open to undergraduate and postgraduate students.

The scholarship will help towards the costs of two summer school courses, accommodation with breakfast, and flights. Please see the list of courses – please ensure that you check the eligibility criteria of the course you wish to apply for.

Accommodation: you will stay in a dormitory sharing with two other students, and will be provided with bed linen, pillows and blankets. There are shared kitchens and bathrooms, IT facilities, study rooms, free internet access and a self-service breakfast. Lunches will be provided on campus.

Discover Erasmus - Poland

Where: Kozminski University, Warsaw

Warsaw has been the capital of Poland for over 400 years and is its largest city. Warsaw is a bustling metropolis with an unforgettable history. Look out for mermaids – the mermaid is the symbol of the city.

When: 9 – 21 July 2018

Discover Poland and spend two weeks in beautiful Warsaw at the Kozminski International Summer School – ‘Law and Business in the Globalizing World’.

Choose from a variety of business and law courses – please check the eligibility criteria before applying. Students may choose from 2 up to 4 courses. They are from Graduate level and open to Undergraduate students.

The scholarship will help to cover the costs of your course, accommodation and flights.

Accommodation: students are able to find their own accommodation – recommendations are made on the website.

Discover Erasmus - Estonia

Where: University of Tallinn

Tallinn, as the capital and largest city in Estonia, is a major European political, culture and educational centre. It is the home of the NATO Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence.

When: 9 – 27 July 2018

Tallinn Summer School combines a wide range of courses with a rich and diverse cultural programme and attracting participants from all over the world. The summer school will introduce you to the finest aspects of local culture, and integrate a wide range of internationally acclaimed academics and intellectuals. Tallinn University is the largest university of humanities in Tallinn and the third largest public university in Estonia.

The summer school offers the courses in the following subject areas: language; creative; educational sciences; humanities and social sciences; and interdisciplinary. Please check the eligibility criteria of your chosen course carefully before applying.

The scholarship will help to cover the costs of one course, accommodation and flights.

Accommodation: students can choose between:

  • Tallinn University International Student Hostel which is a 5 minute walk away from the university campus. It has double and triple rooms.
  • Teko Student Hostel which is 20 minute walk to the campus. The hostel offers triple rooms with shared bathroom and kitchen facilities.

Discover Erasmus - Czech Republic

Where: Tomas Bata University (TBU), Zlín

Zlín is set in the beautiful landscape of Moravia and is very close to several great European cities such as Vienna and Budapest.

When: 13 – 24 August 2018

TBU Summer School offers eight two-week challenging and exciting courses. You will gain valuable knowledge, focus on current issues and modern trends, while having fun with participants from all over the world. Choose from:

  • Frontiers of Environmental Principles and Research
  • Practical Date Analysis in Statistics
  • Digital Marketing in the 21st Century
  • Selected Quantitative Methods for Managerial Decision Making Support
  • Lean Engineering
  • Cybernetics and Informatics – Key 21st Century Sciences
  • Consumer Behaviour and Branding

The scholarship will help to cover the costs of your course, accommodation and flights.

Accommodation: provided in the University Halls of Residence which offers double rooms. Bathrooms and kitchenettes are shared between two double rooms. Breakfasts are included.

Discover Erasmus - Denmark

Where: VIA University College, Aarhus

VIA Summer School courses take place primarily at Aarhus City Campus which is in Aarhus city centre. As the summer school attracts students from all over the world the city centre has a unique and exciting atmosphere for academic learning and socialising.

When: July and August depending on course

VIA Summer School offers courses in health, teaching, pedagogy, engineering, construction, and film and transmedia. Find out more about the courses and please ensure that you meet the eligibility criteria of the course before you apply.

The scholarship will help to cover the costs of your course, accommodation and flights.

Accommodation: there are different options that you can choose from self-catering dormitories to hotel rooms, and the VIA Summer School team will assist you to find somewhere to stay.

Discover Erasmus - Finland

Where: University of Tampere

Tampere is a compact, active and vibrant city with beautiful lake surroundings.

When: 6 – 17 August 2018

Tampere Summer School offers over 30 courses which cover a range of subjects and is open to students from all around the world.

You will be taught by course teachers who are top professionals in their field. The summer school is organised by the University of Tampere, Tampere University of Technology and Tampere University of Applied Sciences. All courses are taught in English and suitable for both undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Discover Erasmus - Russia

Where: St. Petersburg Polytechnic University

St. Petersburg is considered to be one of the world’s most beautiful cities and the summer school takes place in the period of the famous White Nights.

When: 23 July – August, depending on course

Discover Russia by participating in the International Polytechnic Summer School. You will be taught by outstanding professors who will increase your subject knowledge and you will participate in case studies, group discussions, field trips and study visits in addition to lectures.

There is a wide range of courses to choose from including Space Technology, Natural Sciences and Engineering, Information Technologies, Civil Engineering, Energy Technology, Design, Food Science, Business and Management, and Russian Studies. Please read the course descriptions to ensure that you meet any eligibility criteria before applying.

The scholarship will help to cover the costs of your course, accommodation and flights. Please note that you will need to apply for a visa in order to participate in this summer school.

Accommodation: you will stay in student dormitories with double or triple rooms in an apartment with shared facilities.

A competitive scholarship which helps to cover the cost of tuition and accommodation fees is available for one of the summer school courses offered by the University of Helsinki, Finland.

When: 7 – 23 August 2018

Helsinki Summer School offers courses that cover a wide range of academic fields and multidisciplinary topics: Environmental Food and Biological Sciences, Health Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences, and Natural Sciences. Please check the entry requirements carefully before applying.

Discover Erasmus Exchange Scholarships

Discover Eastern and Northern Europe's less travelled destinations and our fantastic partner universities with the help of NTU Global’s Discover Erasmus exchange scholarships. If you are planning to study abroad during the 2018/19 academic year, you can apply for an additional £500 on top of your Erasmus+ mobility grant to help you cover the cost of travelling and studying abroad.

These scholarships are a fantastic way to discover new countries, cultures and teaching at one of our partners in these amazing countries: Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Hungary, Latvia, Norway, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia and Sweden.

To be eligible, you’ll need to secure an exchange place for the 2018/19 academic year at one of our partner universities in the countries listed above.

The funding will be paid to your account once we receive confirmation of your place from the partner university.
