Identifying achievements

Achievements are tasks you have accomplished well. When describing them, start with action words and write them in the past tense. For example:

  • Organised fund raising fair for local charity raising £200.
  • Played in rugby team that won the university league.
  • Wrote and performed a one woman show at local arts festival.

Identifying your achievements gives employers evidence of your strengths - therefore you need to consider your experiences and extract your key achievements.

To identify your achievements you need to make a list of the components of your degree and consider your achievements in each one. List your activities out of university, and consider your achievements for each one, describing them in a way that employers will find interesting and relevant.
