Access to facilities

We have a range of facilities for people with disabilities at each of our libraries including lifts, parking arrangements and additional support.

Boots Library, City Campus

Car parking
There are spaces for blue-badge holders in the car park at the rear of the Boots Library, off Goldsmith Street.

Access and orientation
The main entrance to the Boots Library is at the corner of Goldsmith Street and Shakespeare Street. A lift provides access from the street to level 0. There is an accessible street-level entrance to the Boots Library and Djanogly Lecture Theatre on Goldsmith Street. Access is granted by your Smartcard and Student Support Services will advise if you are eligible to use this entrance.

Lifts and keys
The building is served by three lifts. A key is required to access the Djanogly Lecture Theatre from the lifts in the Goldsmith Street entrance area. Student Support Services will advise if you are eligible for a key.

For mobility-impaired and wheelchair users
Workspaces with adjustable desk heights are available in various locations and a low-level photocopier is located on level 1.

Accessible toilets are available on all levels.

Clifton Library

Car parking
A parking space is available for up to 30 minutes for blue badge holders outside Clifton Library. Additional spaces can be found outside New Hall building.

Access and orientation
The library occupies two levels, level 0 (ground) and level 1. There is a lift for access to level 1.

For mobility-impaired and wheelchair users
Workspaces with adjustable desk heights are available on both levels and a low-level photocopier is located on level 0 near the entrance.

An accessible toilet is available on both levels.

Brackenhurst Library

Car parking
There is parking for two blue badge holders in front of the Main Hall.

Access and orientation
The library is arranged over one floor. Wheelchair users and mobility impaired customers can access the building via Smartcard  through the main door.

For mobility-impaired and wheelchair users
Towards the rear of the library there is a workspace with adjustable desk height and screen-reading software. A low-level photocopier is also available.

An accessible toilet is available.
