Librarians and advisers

The Learning and Teaching Team is made up of a number of Learning and Teaching Librarians and Academic Skills Advisers. We work closely with Schools and individual academics to ensure that the Library has the resources needed to support student learning and research, and academic staff are kept up to date with developments that may affect their teaching, e.g. updates in technology or changes in Copyright legislation.

Learning and Teaching Librarians

Our Learning and Teaching Librarians are all professionally qualified librarians with many years experience of working with students and staff at the University.  They all have PGCHE qualifications, and many are Fellows of the Higher Education Academy.  Learning and Teaching Librarians work alongside academic staff, are primary contacts in the library for School-related learning and teaching issues, and attend various School committees.  They also supervise our team of Student Mentors.

Academic Skills Advisers

Our Academic Skills Advisers have worked in education at various levels providing support for academic writing, study skills and mathematics, and have teaching qualifications.  They are also involved in the supervision of Student Mentors.
