Join an ensemble

There are various ensembles at the University, providing opportunities for students, staff and members of the local community to develop their musical talents. These include the NTU Concert Band, String Ensemble, Brass Ensemble, Big Band, Drumline, Chamber Choir, and the NTU Choir – the largest choir at the University, consisting of over 180 singers.

Band development programme

We also run a band development programme, which offers students the platform and facilities to meet other like-minded instrumentalists and create a band under the guidance of our experienced band development leader Tom Bates.

Performance opportunities

Throughout the academic year we host a range of exciting and memorable concerts. Previous events have included performances alongside the Philharmonia Orchestra, the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, and West-End star Kerry Ellis.

Concert Band has been a truly wonderful experience for me. It has enabled me to get back into playing the clarinet, meet new friends, and perform in exciting concerts across Nottingham and Europe.”
