The Marketing Department is a vibrant and constantly evolving part of Nottingham Business School that comprises 30 permanent staff and a number of visiting faculty brought in for their specialist knowledge and experience. Our typical marketing lecturer combines the academic and practical sides of marketing through relevant research into key marketing areas and frequent contact with marketing practice in industry. This allows our teaching of marketing to have both academic and practical relevance, something recognised by the Chartered Institute of Marketing and highly valued by the marketing companies that we work with (as evidenced by the employability of our marketing graduates).

Marketing lecturers are engaged in a wide range of activities that enhance the development, refinement and/or teaching of up-to-date and relevant marketing knowledge. These activities cover the range of marketing disciplines from marketing communications to branding, digital marketing, social marketing and beyond, as well marketing as it is deployed in various key business areas e.g. retail marketing, international marketing and services marketing. The activities themselves include delivering high quality and topical marketing modules to students of all levels, undertaking internationally recognised research and providing consultancy services to advise organisations on the optimum marketing approaches to adopt.
