We can provide financial support to businesses who want to hire our students and graduates.

Our currently available funding opportunities are detailed below.

Enabling Innovation, ERDF Student Internship Programme (8 weeks) 

Recruit an innovative student on an 8 week internship part funded by the European Regional Development Fund. The student can help support with the development of a new product, process or service.

About
The Enabling Innovation ERDF 8 week internship means we can part-fund an internship by 50% at a local SME business for an 8 week period.

The intern will support your business with developing new products, services or processes. To access this funding, you will need to pay the student or graduate intern a minimum of £2400. At the end of the 8 week internship you can claim £1200 back. This equates to 50% of the total intern salary.

Are you eligible?
To access this funding, your organisation must:

  • be an SME with less than 250 employees
  • have a turnover of less than £50m.
  • be based in the D2N2 region.
  • not be owned by a larger parent group
  • recruit a graduate from NTU

Enabling Innovation, ERDF Graduate Recruitment Programme (up to 12 months) 

Recruit an innovative graduate for up to 12 months. This scheme is part funded by the European Regional Development Fund. The graduate can help support with the development of a new product, process or service.

About
NTU has funding available from the ERDF Enabling Innovation programme to financially support local SME businesses to hire a graduate. This can be for either up to 12 months or on a part-time basis.

The graduate will support your business in developing new products, services or processes.

This funding will provide your organisation with a grant of 20% of the graduate’s total salary. To access this funding, you will need to pay the graduate at least minimum wage. We can promote your graduate role directly to our students through our online vacancy portal FutureHub, free of charge.

  • recruit a graduate from NTU
