What can I do with a degree in Sociology?
Studying Sociology provides you with a wide range of subject-specific and highly transferable skills. As such, Sociology graduates are very well placed to pursue employment in a diverse range of occupations in the private, public and voluntary sectors.
Their qualitative and quantitative research skills are drawn upon in private sector research organisations, consultancies and media firms. They carry out research for government departments on topics such as the distribution of wealth and income, and gender and equality and they are also involved in policy development and analysis.
You can also find Sociology graduates in graduate employment not directly related to Sociology, because their research, presentation and communication skills are so well-developed, and they have a sound understanding of the dynamics of contemporary society.
