Welcome Week events and activities for new international students

Welcome Week provides a great opportunity for all new students at NTU to make new friends, take part in lots of different activities and get settled into life at NTU and in Nottingham.
There will be events and opportunities for you to meet other new NTU students and find out more about studying at NTU from Monday 18 September, so make sure you join us if you are arriving in the UK before welcome week.

Welcome event for all new international students: Wednesday 20 September, 1pm

All new international students are invited to our welcome event on Wednesday 20 September. The afternoon will include information on living in the UK and studying at NTU, welcome week, and there will be the opportunity to meet other new international students. The event will conclude with a great British favourite – afternoon tea! If you would like to join us, please complete a registration form.

Open all day, the Global Lounge will be available for you to drop in and relax. Tea, coffee and snacks will be available, and you will be able to meet friendly staff and fellow students from around the world.

Welcome points

When you arrive at the University, come along to one of our International Student Welcome Points. You can collect a Welcome Pack, ask our Student Ambassadors any questions you may have about life in Nottingham or at NTU, and find out more about our Welcome Events.
Our Welcome points will be at:

  • City Campus - Student Services Centre, Newton building, Monday 18 to Friday 29 September
  • Clifton Campus - Pavilion building, Friday 22 to Monday 25 September

International students welcome talks

An opportunity for all international students to get practical information and advice on how to make the most of your time at NTU and in the UK. This session also covers important immigration issues, including information about your Tier 4 visa and working in the UK.

  • Saturday 23 September (City Campus) – 1pm, Newton Building, lecture theatre 4
  • Tuesday 26 September (Clifton Campus) – 10:30am, New Hall Block, lecture theatre 8
  • Thursday 28 September (City Campus) – 11am, Newton Building, lecture theatre 4
