Most courses within NBS offer the opportunity to study abroad. We currently have over 80 partner institutions in 36 countries around the world, and we work hard to expand this offering each year and support our students who want to study abroad. We did
A new Personal and Professional Development module has been developed for first and second year undergraduate students. The module includes a personalised plan to help each student achieve their full potential. The module allows you to get involved with a range of opportunities including volunteering, studying abroad, internships, placements, summer schools, and more.

We did
Our unique Alumni Fellowship Scheme was introduced to improve students' opportunities to network with industry experts, enriching learning and employability opportunities. We now have over 250 experienced alumni deliver mentoring, recruitment fair and Assessment Centre support, shadowing, guest lectures, and buddying support.

We've also partnered with Google on their Google Digital Garage programme as a key strand of our personalisation programme, which aims to provide you with personalised experiential learning and develop your digital skills.

We want more study space in the Newton building.

We've bought additional tables and chairs for Levels 0 and 1 in Newton, so you have more space for independent and group study.

We don't want to have to come to the Link Lounge in the Newton building to hand in assessments.

From 2016 entry we've introduced online submission, to make assessment hand-in quicker and easier for you.

We want more opportunities to apply theory to the real world.

A final year module, Leadership and Employability, has been introduced into all Business School undergraduate degrees, as well as a programme of employability events.

Can we have more support with employability?
We did
We have a tailored NBS employability area on NOW with a calendar of CPD events plus challenges, competitions and initiatives.

Too many employability events are scheduled on a Wednesday.
We did
We now schedule events throughout the week.

The online resources are too confusing.
We did
We now have "emponline", which is a gateway to all NTU employability resources.

Other improvements

  • We now have a larger Employability team supporting NBS students and working with employers to source good-quality placements and graduate opportunities.
