Welcome Week is a varied and vibrant programme of over 500 different activities designed to welcome new students to NTU. It takes place over a ten-day period prior to the start of each academic year in late September and early October and, wherever possible, fits in around course induction events.
The overarching goal of Welcome Week is to maximise opportunities for students to begin to make new friends and start to feel that they belong to the University community. We have found that helping students to form important social networks early on in their university career has a positive impact on student satisfaction and retention.
Welcome Week also plays a key role in giving new students the chance to find out about the opportunities and services available to them throughout their time at NTU.

We also run a smaller "Winter Welcome" programme for students joining us on courses that start in January and February. Winter Welcome has the same ethos as Welcome Week, but is offered on a smaller scale and over a longer period of time due to the size and start dates of the student intake. Winter Welcome 2018 runs throughout January and February. The full Winter Welcome 2018 programme is available to view online from mid-December.
