Node teaching rooms

City Campus: Chaucer 2705
Clifton Campus: Clifton Teaching Block (CTB) P07

Node chairs are designed to enable quick and easy transition between different configurations, such as small group activities, plenary discussion, pair work, and so on. The chairs feature swivel seats, multi-directional castors, storage for personal items, and an adjustable work surface suitable for both left and right-handers.

This space is ideal for a teaching approach which incorporates varied and frequently-shifting student configurations. The use of node chairs at Indiana University has been found to reduce the time spent on pre-task organisation and enable students to engage in activities more quickly and easily. A CADQ resource is available summarising research into the use of the chairs and links to some of the universities that have reported positive student engagement with their use.
