NTU Wall of Women marks International Women's Day
NTU students and staff built a Wall of Women for International Women's Day
On Wednesday 8 March, NTU marked International Women’s Day with the creation of a Wall of Women, to celebrate the many talented and influential women who study and work at the University.
Walls were created at City, Clifton and Brackenhurst campuses, with students and staff adding bricks with stories of inspirational women at NTU and the impact they have on the people around them.
Bricks from Clifton and Brackenhurst campuses have now been added to the wall at City Campus - it is situated in Newton building, Level 1, where it will remain for the rest of the week. Students and staff of any gender can still contribute, wither in person, or if you're not on campus, by contacting firstname.lastname@example.org with your nomination and message - this will then be transcribed onto a brick and added to the wall on your behalf.
The wall now contains more than 550 bricks and counting – in fact it had to be expanded several times to accommodate the sheer number of women who were nominated!
Over the coming weeks the bricks will be photographed to create an online archive, as a permanent reminder of this celebration of NTU women. We hope to contact as many of the nominated women as possible to let them know they were part of the wall.
We would like to thank everyone who participated in this event, and all the inspirational women of NTU who made this possible.
