NTU Concert Band travels to Paris for second international tour
NTU Concert Band in Disneyland Paris
Over 40 NTU students and staff recently returned from a successful tour to Paris where they performed as part of the Concert Band and Drumline, in venues across the city.
The first performance took place on the impressive Videopolis stage at Disneyland. The Concert Band and Drumline performed a 20-minute set as part of the Disney Performing Arts Programme. It was an exciting opportunity for the students, who were subsequently invited back to perform at Disneyland in the near future.
Other concerts included a performance at the Notre Dame bandstand and at the bandstand in Parc Georges-Brassens. All the concerts were well received with many audience members commenting on the high standard of the performance.
Students and staff also had the opportunity to enjoy some sight-seeing in Paris. Highlights included a boat tour along the river Seine, visiting Notre Dame and Montmartre and (of course!), spending the day at Disneyland Paris!
Trumpeter, Ben Irwin, who is in his final year, studying (BA) Hons Product Design, said: “The whole trip was such a brilliant experience. It was amazing to perform at Disneyland on such a grand stage —a fantastic way to end my four years at NTU.”
