NTU performing at Albert Hall, Nottingham
NTU Music celebrated their 10 year anniversary, and the end of the busy and successful academic year, with a special concert at Nottingham’s Albert Hall.
The concert included performances by all the NTU Music ensembles, including the Choir, Chamber Choir, Concert Band, Brass Brand, String Sinfonia and Drumline.
The programme was varied, featuring music from well-known films and musicals, as well as arrangements of other popular songs.
This was the perfect opportunity to celebrate the departments 10 year anniversary. Over 200 students, staff and members of the local community performed in the concert — reflecting the growth of the department over the past 10 years.
The finale saw three final year students receiving awards. BA (Hons) Criminology student, Chis Brown; LLB (Hons) Law student Helena Stone; and BA (Hons) Product Design student, Ben Irwin, were recognised for their dedication to music during their time at NTU.
After the concert, members of NTU Music both past and present, joined the current NTU Music team for a celebratory reception at Via Fossa. Entertainment for the evening was provided by the NTU Big Band, led by renowned trumpeter Gerald Douglas.
