NTU Choir on the lookout for new members

NTU Music performance

NTU Music are looking to recruit new choir members ahead of their performance of Verdi’s Requiem in April 2018.

The blockbuster of the 2017/18 concert season will see the NTU Choir join forces with the world-renowned London Philharmonic Orchestra and celebrated soloists Dame Sarah Connolly, Elizabeth Llewellyn, Gwyn Hughes Jones, and Wojtek Gierlach.

Now is the perfect opportunity for staff to join the choir and be part of the special performance featuring a world-class orchestra.

No experience of singing or reading music is required as staff can be paired with choir members for guidance.

It is an opportunity to meet new people and be a part of NTU’s International Music Series which is taking place across 2018 to celebrate the University’s 175th Anniversary.

Rehearsals are Tuesday evenings, 6.15 pm – 8.30 pm, in the NTU Music Centre, City Campus.

Due to the scale of this piece there will be some extra rehearsals on Sunday 21 January (11 am – 3 pm), Sunday 25 February (11 am – 3 pm), Sunday 18 March (11 am - 3 pm), Sunday 22 April (11 am - 3 pm) and Friday 27 April (6.15 pm – 7.30 pm).

Staff can join the choir after Christmas for just £20 which gives you membership up until the end of the academic year. The choir performs at least once a term, so there are other exciting events for you to get involved in.

Don't miss out on this fantastic opportunity. Contact the Music Team today or visit the Music Centre, Goldsmith Street, City Campus for more information.
