Research Fellow in Sustainable Design at NTU and member of the CIE-MAP (Centre for Industrial Energy, Materials and Products) research centre.
Ana is a sustainable product designer and researcher. She holds a PhD in Sustainable Design from the Delft University of Technology, where prior to joining NTU she had been a guest researcher and lecturer in subjects such as design research, sustainable materials and life cycle assessment. Ana has worked as an ecodesign researcher at the Centre for Sustainable Business Development within the National Research Institute of Engineering, Technology and Innovation in Portugal. Ana has also worked for the Creative University as principal lecturer of Sustainable Design. She is the founder of the SUSDESIGN design and research consultancy for sustainable design.
Ana's research at the CIE-MAP research centre focuses on sustainable design. Ana's research role at NTU includes:
The research methods and tools may involve interviews and / or questionnaires, creating models and / or prototypes, and developing and / or using checklists and tools (e.g. LCA).
Journal reviewer for Elsevier's Journal of Cleaner Production.
Research adviser on sustainable design for SUSDESIGN – Design & Research Consultancy.
Research adviser on sustainable design for the Cascais region, within the European Commission INTERREG IVC – the Innovation & Environment Regions of Europe Sharing Solutions programme.
CIE-MAP is a RCUK-funded project. CIE-MAP is one of six national research centres established in 2013 to develop strategies to deliver a step change reduction in industry's demand for energy and materials.
