Members of the public and other visitors

NTU Library welcomes visitors and we look forward to meeting you when you visit. You may use the library free of charge for reference purposes, however if you wish to borrow books, then you will need to pay a small annual fee.

Electronic resources available to visitors

The license agreements for the majority of our electronic resources mean that they can only be accessed by NTU staff, students and researchers. There are some online resources however, that can be accessed by visitors to NTU campus libraries.

Visitors accompanied by NTU staff or students

NTU staff or students who wish to bring in visitors or groups should notify us in advance. Otherwise, visitors will need to complete the process stated above.

If you would like to bring your children into the Library, please talk to staff on the reception desk who will be happy to help, although we maintain the right to refuse entry if appropriate. Children must be supervised at all times during their visit.

Staff and students from other universities

As a member of another university library, you may be eligible for external membership under a reciprocal scheme, such as SCONUL Access or Vacation Access. Please enquire at your own university library for details.

When you become a member, we will issue you with a swipe card. This allows you access to the library during full service hours. Please bring it with you on each visit.

If you are not eligible to become an external member, you will be able to sign in as a library visitor instead (see above).
