LEX Student Law Society

LEX is Nottingham Trent University's highly successful student Law society. We provide a host of exciting opportunities for anybody studying (or with an interest) in Law.

Competition for legal jobs is at an all time high and LEX Student Law Society appreciates the importance of networking with legal professionals and enhancing your CV.

What We Offer

The Mooting Society provides a brilliant opportunity for students to take part and practice their advocacy skills. It is a great way to build confidence, improve public speaking and construct arguments. Workshops will help you for the assessed moots during your time here, and we can offer advice on how to prepare bundles. Competitions run from October to March, with prizes for the winners!

Legal Skills and Volunteering
We offer workshops aimed at providing you with some idea of the practical skills a solicitor needs on a daily basis, such as; client interviews or drafting legal documents. You can then apply to be a part of the student led NTU pro bono clinic.

Several events lined up this year will give LEX members the chance to interact with legal professionals. We offer members of LEX Student Law Society the chance to attend networking dining events and the chance to visit legal landmarks like the Inns of Court and the Supreme Court in London.

Netball and Football
LEX Student Law Society Netball and Football are great ways to meet new people, keep fit and have fun! There are no trials and anyone can join, no matter what your ability. We train once a week and play in the University League and against local law firms for more informal networking.

Social Events
We also appreciate that every hardworking law student needs to have some fun and we organise a busy calendar of social and sporting events to keep you entertained, culminating in the annual Law Ball.

You can visit the Students' Union pages if you want to contact the committee members. You can also join our facebook group and follow us on twitter. We hope to see you soon!
