Scholarships and loyalty schemes
The School of Social Sciences is delighted to offer a number of generous scholarships and loyalty schemes. These include:
- Masters scholarships
- the International Development Office's international scholarship scheme
- the International Development Office's European Union scholarship scheme
- Postgraduate Taught and Professional Alumni Loyalty Scheme
- research bursaries.
Please note that these scholarships are only available to students who have been offered a place to study on their chosen Masters course within the School. See below for a list of eligible courses.
The School of Social Sciences Dean's Masters Scholarship for Academic Excellence
The School of Social Sciences is delighted to offer a number of competitive Dean's Masters Scholarships for Academic Excellence for eligible courses starting in September 2016.
These prestigious scholarships are available to students from the United Kingdom and are worth up to the value of half the tuition fee. The scholarships will be available in the form of a tuition fee reduction. If you are successful in your scholarship application, you will be invited to join our exclusive Scholarship Winner's Ambassador Scheme when you enrol on your course.
The following full-time and part-time courses are included in the School of Social Sciences Dean's Masters Scholarships for Academic Excellence Scheme:
- MSc Psychology
- MSc Applied Child Psychology
- MSc Forensic Psychology
- MSc Psychological Research Methods
- MRes Psychological Research Methods
- MSc Forensic Mental Health
- MSc Psychology in Clinical Practice
- MSc Psychological Wellbeing and Mental Health
- MA Politics
- MA International Relations
- MA Sociology
- MA Criminology
- MA Public Health.
For courses starting in September 2016 the scholarship application deadlines are:
- 4 pm GMT on 24 February 2016
- 4 pm GMT on 27 April 2016
- 4 pm GMT on 22 June 2016
Scholarship applications received before 4 pm GMT on a deadline date will be assessed at the subsequent scholarship assessment panel and successful applicants will be notified of their scholarship award within three weeks. Scholarship application forms submitted after the final deadline will not be considered.
The University also has a number of scholarships available for international applicants starting on full-time postgraduate courses and applicants from the European Union.

Postgraduate Taught and Professional Alumni Loyalty Scheme for courses starting in September 2016 and January 2017
Nottingham Trent University is pleased to offer a 25% tuition fee reduction if you are an existing final year NTU undergraduate student; or a postgraduate or professional student studying at the City site, Clifton campus or Brackenhurst campus, and you progress directly onto an eligible course within the School of Social Sciences; or if you have studied a full-time or part-time undergraduate, postgraduate or professional course at the University (on the City site, Clifton campus or Brackenhurst campus) and graduated from the University at any time after 1 July 2011.
You must also have accepted an offer of a place to study on an eligible course at the School of Social Sciences starting in September 2016 or January 2017. You do not need to apply for the discount as it will automatically be deducted from your fee before enrolment.
