Helen Reed - Employability Coordinator

Dean Penford - Careers Consultant

I am the Careers Consultant for the School of Social Sciences. I provide a weekly drop-in service in Chaucer building, specifically for Social Sciences students to call in regarding any quick information queries, ideas, or concerns regarding their future career. I am also part of a larger employability team providing a similar service to all NTU students from the employability centre in Newton building. Within Social Sciences I provide application clinic sessions for small groups. In these sessions I look at developing CV writing and interview and application skills. I support Helen Reed with our Succeed with Social Sciences events, bringing in employers and opportunity providers for information sessions. I support curriculum and tutorial interventions to make your employability a key part of your learning at NTU.
