Bav Shah
Co-opted Member of the NTU Development Board
Bav Shah graduated from Nottingham Trent University in 2006 with a BSc (Hons) in Real Estate Management and was also awarded the Vice-Chancellor’s Trust Fund Award for the School of Architecture, Design and the Built Environment for that year.
During his final year of study, Bav was elected as President of Nottingham Trent Students’ Union for the 2006/07 year. During this time, he led a team of elected officers to represent the needs of the student body, and also worked to maintain and strengthen the relationship with the University to work together towards providing a great ‘student experience’.
In 2007 Bav returned to the property industry and qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 2009, specialising in Corporate Property Management with Gerald Eve LLP, a national firm of Chartered Surveyors and Property Consultants.
Bav has worked within local authorities and private practice providing day-to-day and long-term strategic asset management advice. Clients advised include private individuals, Whitbread Group PLC, Gondola Group (Pizza Express, ASK, Zizzi and Byron Burger), Marriott and David Lloyd Leisure and WH Smith for a variety of issues.
For the 2015 year, Bav took a break from the UK and worked in Australia, in commercial property audit and asset services management roles for DEXUS Property Group, one of Australia's leading property groups with over $19 billion of assets under management.
Bav has delivered lectures at The University of South Carolina, is a regular speaker at NTU and is also a mentor for students within the School of Property and Construction, as well as for the Surveying Professional Body, the RICS.
Outside of Surveying, Bav is involved in the day-to-day management of the family firm of Accountants, which has been established for over 35 years. He also enjoys working with a number of international charities on fundraising initiatives and is a keen traveller and Rotarian.
