Dignity and respect advisory service

The University is opposed to harassment/bullying in all its forms. Whether it is on the basis of a person’s age, disability, gender reassignment, sex, sexual orientation, race, religion or belief, or for any other reason, harassment/bullying will not be tolerated.

Dignity and Respect Contacts are available to both staff and students at NTU. They are members of staff from across the University who have been given specialist training in providing support, information and an impartial listening service to both staff and students who feel they may be experiencing harassment and/or bullying, and also to people responding to harassment and/or bullying complaints.

Dignity and Respect Contacts provide a confidential, informal and timely source of information and support on harassment and/or bullying issues, which will enable staff and students to consider appropriate pathways for resolution, in accordance with University policies and procedures. They are able to:

  • listen effectively and fully explore the issues involved in your concern
  • provide full, clear and accurate information on the relevant University policies and procedures for addressing your concern
  • assist in ensuring that you are aware of the relevant informal and formal options open to you and the key practicalities involved in progressing each course of action
  • provide information about further sources of help and support available and, where requested by you, make onward referrals.

To make an appointment to talk to one of the Dignity and Respect Contacts, or to obtain further information, please get in touch by email or telephone +44 (0)115 848 6176 (ext 86176 if you are calling internally).
