Women's Staff Network
The Women’s Staff Network was formed in 2016 by a group of like-minded women, underpinned by a shared passion. The network exists to:
- Raise the profile of women at NTU
- Empower women
- Create a supportive, aspirational, and motivational space for women at NTU
The network meets once a term over a lunchtime period at one of the University campuses, we always look forward to welcoming new and current members to our meetings and other activities.
The network is led by a Steering Group/Committee who support the following network groups:
- Aspiring Leaders
- Early Parenting
- Women in Academia
- WSN Social Group
We have a Microsoft Teams Group, where we regularly post information from network meetings, to social events and other members circulate interest pieces. Join the network’s Teams group.
Please email us to let us know if you wish to be involved with the Network or want to know more. Membership is open to any staff who identify and/or present as female.
For more information please download our Terms of Reference and Memorandum of Understanding, or send us an email.
International Women's Day 2019
The Women’s Staff Network encouraged the NTU community to Go Purple for IWD and show their support for gender equality! Purple is the official colour of IWD, symbolising achievements gained and achievements yet to come.
Colleagues joined network members in the Newton Building for a group photo, including NTU Deputy Vice-Chancellor Professor Eunice Simmons and University of Nottingham Vice-Chancellor Professor Shearer West.
Our Wall of Wisdom asked women to offer up one piece of advice they could give to their younger self, to other women in their profession, or to others generally. They wrote their thoughts on a ‘brick’ to build up a wall of women’s wisdom.
