Research at NTU

Research is a major part of life at NTU. Many of the University's academics are engaged in research in their specialisms providing new insights which impact lives and society.

In the latest Research Excellence Framework (REF 2014) more than half (55%) of our research was classed within the top two categories: world-leading or internationally-excellent.

There are opportunities to undertake your own research projects at NTU. Studying for a PhD allows you to investigate your own independent thoughts and ideas over a period of several years.

There are also opportunities for our undergraduate students to get involved in the University's research activity. The SPUR programme gives students the chance to assist in research projects during the summer vacation. Look out for details through the student news emails.
