If you are a full-time UK home undergraduate student applying though Student Finance England and will be studying or working abroad (with less than ten weeks spent studying at Nottingham Trent University), you may be eligible for the following funding:
Tuition Fee Loans
If you are eligible for funding through Student Finance England, a loan is available to cover your tuition fee for your placement and/or study abroad year.
Loans and grants for living costs
Studying abroad/ERASMUS work placements
If you are studying abroad as part of your course, or you are undertaking an ERASMUS study and / or work placement, you should be entitled to the same package of grants and loans that you would get if you were spending the year studying at NTU.
In these cases, you may be eligible to receive the higher 'overseas' rate of maintenance loan:
The following figures are for students who started their course before 1st September 2016
- up to £7,617 per year rather than £6,411 per year in 2019/20
You may also be eligible for a Maintenance Grant/Special Support Grant of up to £3,694.
The following figures are for students who started their course after 1st September 2016
- up to £10,242 per year rather than £8,944 per year in 2019/20
You may also be eligible for an additional means-tested travel grant to help with travel-related costs.

NTU scholarships
NTU scholarships are only available during years in which the full tuition fee is payable. As such, there is no NTU scholarship available during years of study or work abroad.
