NTU staff will be available to register you at the University’s health centre, and to answer any question you may have about health and wellbeing during your time at NTU. Events for international students during welcome week

Social Events

We run a number of fun activities for international students. Come along, meet new people and make friends from all over the world!

Wollaton Park Visit (Sunday22September,  1pm-4pm) – Visit the historic Wollaton Park in Nottingham. Walk around the beautiful park with a lake and see the wild deer that live there. You can also visit Wollaton Hall – which was the location of Wayne Manor in the batman film ‘The Dark Knight Rises’. Tickets are required and can be booked here.

International Students BBQ (Monday 23 September, 5pm-7pm) – Food, games and live music! Meet other internationals students, NTU staff and student ambassadors who will be happy to chat and answer any questions you might have about being a student at NTU. No need to book, just come along to Benefactors’ Court in the Newton building.

International Students Quiz (Tuesday 24 September, 7pm-9pm) –Come along to a classic British trivia quiz, answer some questions and make some new friends. No need to book, just come along and have a great time.

Information talks for international students
We also deliver a lot of helpful talks in the first week to help you get settled at the university as quickly as possible, and make the most of your time here. No need to book, just come along and listen.

Essential Information for international students
Saturday 21 September, 1pm-2pm, City campus
Tuesday 24 September, 11am-12noon, Clifton campus
– This talk will include practical information to help you settle in, as well as immigration advice for non-EU nationals and information about the EU settlement scheme.

Opportunities at NTU (Monday 23 September, 4pm-4.30pm) – Find out more about what NTU has to offer. Learn about the services, facilities and opportunities available. Don’t forget to come to the BBQ afterwards at Benefactors’ Court!

Introduction to British culture (Tuesday 24 September, 4pm – 4.30pm) – New to the UK? Come along and find out about British culture and traditions, as well as tips on how to adapt to a new country.

Immigration Information for International Students (Wednesday 25 September, 4pm – 4.30pm) – Learn about important immigration matters, including your responsibilities as tier 4 students, work eligibility and travelling outside the UK. This talk will also include information on EU settlement for EU nationals.

Student Support- Enhancing your PG experience (Thursday 26 September - time tbc) – Meet the International Student Support team and get help and advice. This talk will also include immigration advice for non-EU students and the EU settlement scheme.

Health Information for International Students (Thursday 26 September,  4pm – 4.30pm) – Learn about accessing health services in the UK as well as tips to look after yourself while studying.

Working During your Studies (Friday 27 September, 4pm – 4.30pm) – Learn everything you need to know about finding part-time work in the UK, as well as what work you can do with your visa. The session will also include money-saving tips and ideas for students.
